DESIGNER

RJE Business Interiors is more than a furniture dealer, we are a workplace consultant and full-service provider of furniture solutions and interior construction for commercial spaces. We are looking for a talented designer with a knack for details and a love for project management to join our team as a designer in our Indianapolis, Indiana offices. The designer is the heart of our business and is responsible for creating innovative and beautiful designs for our customers. As a designer, you will be responsible to provide design and front-end project management support for a variety of project scopes and client needs. This may include large-scale projects and specific high-profile customers. The designer will work in tandem with the salesperson and may even replace the salesperson in specific tasks. Qualifications:

  • Interior Design degree – 2 or 4 year
    • 1-2 years previous design experience related to the commercial furniture industry, preferred but not required
    • Proficient with: AutoCAD
  • Preferred: CET
  • Preferred: CAP 20/20
  • Preferred: Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient with: Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Critical/creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at one time, at times within limited timeframes

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Client fact-finding process and programming
    • Creating design presentations to support furniture typical specifications
    • Develop furniture floorplan, specifications, and finish package for approval
  • Assists with bid or proposal responses by assembling collateral materials
  • Participates in product evaluation and selection
  • Provide installation packets
  • Conducts field measurements
